Ascendas' Green initiative for The Galen Building at the Singapore Science Park achieves new benchmark in optimizing energy efficiency. The project is expected to save about 5,300 MWh of electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2,500 tonnes per year, which is equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by 200,000 trees in a year. |

Ascendas partners Singapore Polytechnic to develop and test-bed new energy-efficient and eco-friendly technologies for Ascendas properties in Singapore. For its first project, Singapore Polytechnic will embark on the design and testbed of solar kiosks for different contexts and users at the Singapore Science Park. The solar kiosks will feature eight solar panels and seats for four users to power their laptop computers simultaneously. |

The building also scored 80.9 points under the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA)'s Construction Quality Assessment System (CONQUAS), which accords recognition to local construction projects that have demonstrated the highest standards of construction excellence. |

Under the National Parks Board “Adopt-A-Park” scheme, Ascendas and the National University of Singapore (NUS) jointly adopts Kent Ridge Park, a 47-hectare public park located adjacent to Singapore Science Park and NUS. This is the first adoption of a public park by both Ascendas and NUS, attesting to their commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and contribution to natural heritage conservation.
